Putting 750k6 barrels and head back on - any tips
« on: November 26, 2016, 04:07:17 PM »
Hi Guys
Going to put top end on this week - have built few 750 engines previously but they where the earlier k's so thought I would pick the brains of the experts - any tips for oil leak free assembly? Last K2 build using advice on extra thickness seals etc remains oil tight without even any misting.
Cheers
Phil

Are you sure its a K6  ;D If it is, then put it back together in the reverse order you took it apart. Honda had corrected all problems by the time the K6 came out.

Its got K6 engine no's and matches all the bits match CSML schematics Graham. nice and simple then - there was all kinds of suggestions for keeping the K2 oil tight so I'll just bolt it back together.
Thanks

Yep, just put all 8 dowels in and all the rubbers ;) Just check the seal in the cam chain tensioner is OK, have never found the part number for that seal.

What seal do you mean Graham? I can't place that seal - just checked the schematics and can't see a seal except gasket?

I've fitted a complete new camchain train - where exactly does the seal fit within the tensioner Graham?

It's located in the tensioner housing and acts as a seal between the housing and the rod of the tensioner ;)

Just been in garage and see what seal you mean - not on schematics that I can see (part of housing part?)
Thanks for info
