SORN ON A HISTORIC VEHICLE

<< < (4/4)

Chris400F:
Well, I've learned something there - I didn't realise the SORN rules had changed, makes more sense now.
As it is I have one bike that is taxed and one that has been off the road and untaxed for so long that it doesn't need SORN.
Hopefully one day that will change (if I get my finger out and get on with sorting it) ....

Nurse Julie:
Every vehicle needs to be taxed or SORN. I think you should still SORN it Chris, even though it's been off the road for yonks, otherwise it may disappear from the DVLA database and that could cause untold problems. The fact that you can do it online and takes just a few seconds, it's no agro really.

Chris400F:
I might give it a try Julie, but I seem to remember that when I tried this once before with a bike like this the system wouldn't let me do it and told me the bike didn't need SORN.
I have had the bike since 2012 and have the V5 in my name so hopefully should be OK for a while.
