I found use of a designated drilling and cutting oil extremely helpful... even with relatively cheap bits...
The stuff I'm using sticks to the bits like honey and extends the lifetime of all drills, taps and dies massively...

Just buy the ones that you need with a reputable name on them. A lot of sets will probably have a few metric coarse and BSP pipe thread which you won't need and most likely missing M10 X1.25.
A plug tap M6/M8 are handy for cleaning out gunked up threads of old anti seize or Loctite.
