My 1980 CB250 RSA gear change linkage 'rose' joints were completely fooked and I am restoring this bike on a budget (albeit one which already totals to probably considerably more than it's worth ..but hey ho.  ::)

Anyway I bought the parts below ... the cheapo rose joints were far to big so I chopped them to the correct length and trimmed down the diameter and profile of the round bit to be the same size as the Honda originals. I still need to tidy up the profile a bit  and also zinc plate them ... I am thinking of two thin O-rings and a bolt and nut through the eyelet to seal the joint before plating. This is deffo one for home plating as I don't know of any commercial platers, who would entertain doing it.

The replacement boots look fairly decent and didn't tear on my test-out assembly, to ascertain if they are rubbish or not. Obviously, I will have to use a fixing for the normally peened over pin used on the lever parts but that's no big deal.

I got 77,000 miles out of one of my CB250 RS's , never had any trouble with the gear linkage.  ;D It was split kick start joints that I had a lot of trouble with.  ::)
