How long does it usually take for the DVLA to assign you a number plate?

Just wondered, sent all my paperwork off a week ago for my US import.

They had absolutely every bit of info they asked for.

I know its only been a week but i'm impatient  :P

Depends on the time of year - but normally 7-10 working days in my recent experience...

I'm itching to take the 550 out for a blast.

When waiting for mine my insurance company said I could ride mine as long as it was to the MOT and not take the piss whilst waiting.
I covered about 100miles and the MOT station is just over 6 miles away.  ;D

S'pose you could always book it in to an mot station somewhere like Cornwall  :D
