Could you use it on something like the cb750
I don't see why not. The RAM mount to fit the unit to the handlebars is simple to use, it's just a question of connecting the power wire to your battery, the TomTom unit does have it's own independent power source but will only last for a few hours, so you need to connect it to the bikes power supply. The TTR 2 kit that I have comes with everything you need, I just paid a few extra quid for the car adapter mount and power lead. The TTR 2 with european mapping is quite expensive, but IMHO certainly worth it.
I'm no electrician so I can't advise on the connecting to your bikes battery. When I bought my Tiger 1050 the dealer fitted a special loom into the Triumphs loom. On my GS1150 I just connected the power cable straight to the battery, no fuses etc; seems to be working just fine. I find it a very useful piece of kit, as usually when I go touring with my pals for some reason I always end up doing most of the leading and navigation (probably coz I'm the only one daft enough to admit being able to read a map

) It's also good for being able to answer my mobile why riding, the Scala headset that comes with the kit is very good.
