Haha trig that reminds me when i had my 500 in the 70s it suddenly started running badly. after scratching my head for a while i realised that my flapping flares had put the choke on!

Or worse still, when you went to put your foot down at the lights, your flares caught on the kickstart or footrest - and you couldn't get your foot down and over you would go!
Flares AND platforms in the attached picture - wish I had the Z1 now (and the hair!)

Gosh, men in platforms. My early 80's bike boots were very similar to these ( what was i thinking 😨😨😨) and yes the heel did snap off whilst riding. That didn't put me off though, I went and bought another pair, identical. [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
