Sandcast?
royhall:
I would be willing to bet that there are far more T120TT's around now than Triumph ever built.
MrDavo:
Exactly the same thing with BSA Rocket Gold Star - a 650cc A10 engine in a Gold Star chassis, far more were built in sheds than in the factory.
K2-K6:
I was with some Triumph blokes the other week, one of them owns a factory production racer with numbers and original reg plate.
Another one claiming to be that very bike turned up for sale! The owner had, in recent times, applied for and received the original reg based on numbers! So two now apparently exist :) the original was obviously refused it's own plate it seems as it had been off the road for so long.
All very tangled.
MrDavo:
I believe that the works BSA Rob North triple that Mike Hailwood rode at Daytona in 1971 exists twice over. Wrecked in a crash by Ray Pickerel the engine was taken out of the bent frame.
As I read it, a bike was built out of the repaired frame, with another engine, and another used the original engine and a replacement frame. Both bikes have been described as the one Hailwood rode.
In a similar vein, every ex works Suzuki from the 70’s I’ve ever seen has a ‘7’ on it and is ex Barry Sheene, they are never ex Steve Parrish or Keith Heuwen for example. He must have had a lot of spare bikes back in the day.

Justifies a ridiculously high price?
Even if the part is common to other models.

When the bubble bursts it will be a loud bang. Houses, cars, gold, everything has drops and corrections. Supply and demand is the dictator.
