Oil Pump

(1/1)

cliff7:
Excuse my ignorance but why has the CB400 have a double oil pump? I could understand if it was dry sump with separate oil tank like the 750 (scavenge pump and feed pump) but 400 is wet sump. Most cars are wet sump and have single pump.

The small one feeds the gearbox.

One side of the pump looks after the engine whilst the other side looks after the gearbox. That's what I think the arrangement is anyway but happy to be corrected 👍.

Laverda Dave:
We both posted at the same time Julie👍

Thanks. I knew it was something like that. Honest! One of the little O rings was displaced slightly due to lack of dowel. Hope gearbox is ok. :-[
