Honda CB400F2 wiring question / (again)
« on: August 10, 2020, 02:56:29 PM »
I been delving into the wiring system out of the handlebars - the right hand side that has engine start button etc. This loom has one male connector that has wire colour as follows - Brown/Blue trace the only female connection that is similar in the nearby main loom is Brown only but there is a small blue band on the wire. Am I right in thinking this is for the parking lights?

Yes, the brown/blue trace wire is for the parking light.

Agree with Julie.

On mine the female insulator is half blue/half clear and links to the Br/B wire.

Often you will find a solid coloured wire with the little coloured band as you describe; this sometime means the band colour is the trace, but can also mean, in my experience if the wire is black, that the band is the main wire colour. I have seen this on indicator wiring where the wire is black with, say, an orange band.
