My book says 3.4w bulbs for warning lights and speedo illumination. I was a bit nervous of putting 233 (4w) bulbs in, in case it melted something so I put in 643 (2.2w)  which are a bit dim. Are 233,s ok for speedo and tacho as well as they are a lot easier to get?

I replaced my speedo/tacho bulbs with green 233 LED's, no heat problem, less current, and really illuminate the green clocks superbly. If you look on one of my previous posts re. headlamp bulbs, you can see the illuminated clocks.

You may find the glass "bulb" is too tall and melts the plastic, Honda used short, round topped type
