Removing the rocker shafts 400/4

(1/2) > >>

McCabe-Thiele (Ted):
My manual states a suitable 10 mm should be used to withdraw the rocker shafts.

Firstly are all 10mm bolts the same thread or is there a fine & coarse option? I have as yet to buy a selection of useful metric bolts so any suggestion as to suitable length is welcome.

Bryanj:
There are 3 different pitches on 10 mmbut that sounds a bit bit are you sure its not 6mm (10mm spanner)

McCabe-Thiele (Ted):
I'm going off the Haynes Manual kit shows the 550 as 6mm.

OK but as I don't understand metric is that a fine thread?

I've removed the first on by putting a close sized bolt in the hole and pushing it to one side so the threads touch - it pulled out with no effort!
