Very interesting for the originality, would it kill the value to actually use it? I’d still want to replace anything rubber before using it, especially oil and brake seals.

Looking through the lots, there’s a lot of Barry Sheene stuff, for example the helmet in lot 54 with a hole drilled so he could smoke a fag on the grid.

Nice bike Julie, little disappointed to see the overall condition, it seems if it has been subjected to a bit of corrosion. Given the age you might expect that but maybe not for a bike that’s never been on the road. Wonder what happened to the original tank and indicators? I would buy at the right money but still needs full restoration in my opinion.

A very nice bike, agreed that's a certain level of restoration is needed, I am not that sure the value when restored would be huge amounts more than a fully restored one with higher mileage,  but it's nice to own a bike with a know history

Lots of corrosion under the seat area plus you can see the corrosion on the chain adjuster and swinging arm from the same photo.
I wonder if it's been stored near the seaside.

If you enlarge the pictures there is corrosion everywhere, fork bottoms are a mess and the rims are looking shoddy.
Must have been stored in a damp place.

Just enlarged the photos and shocked to see the extent of corrosion on the left side.
Makes me wonder what state the cylinder bores are in?

My CB750F1 sat for 10 years in a damp shed before I acquired it, but it had been sprayed with WD40 before being stored so was not too bad corrosion wise.

But I discovered cylinder number one piston rings had corroded to the cylinder bore.
Freed off ok with a spanner on the crank nut, but smoked and consumed oil until repaired properly.

Fantastic restorers reference.
Master cylinder boot looks like it has been nibbled by mice ..exactly the same as my 400-4 one, was when it was stored away in a barn for 15 years.

I just enlarged the pics, it will need a total restore,
I am just wondering if that wear on front disk is only 3.6 km, I am sure they said not ridden

It's got a strange brake master cylinder on it 🤔 Also, the kick start lever needs to be moved round 1 tooth on the spline, the long part of the lever should be parallel to the profile on the chrome cover 😊.

That's what my F1 looked like when I returned to the UK after 10 years away, I stored the bike in the garage covered in grease and WD40 and then dust sheets. When I got back I thought a service and some cosmetic work would do and I could use it again. However once I started stripping down the rusty bits which looked like the under seat area on that bike I quickly realised that a bit more was required, so a 2 year rebuild resulted.

Could it be fitted with one like in the image below Julie? Problem with this bike is it has had bits robbed from it in the past and replaced with other items, so who knows what is orginal.  So I take back what I initially said about it being an excellent restorers reference.

Yes I agree ash, at first glance the bike seemed good, I could imagine being very dissapointed, if i saw it in the flesh
