ok thanks, The bike was registered in 1975, 16000 km, you reckon that is the original engine?
I thought the engine serial shoul be CB500E-2000001-.

The answer is always the same: simply compare your engine- and framenumber to those listed in the first four pages of the CB500 Parts Lists. Only then you will know what exact model you have and for which market it was ment to go. Thanks for your replies, so according to the file posted the bike should be a k1 frame with a k2 engine. or a very late K1 production model with a k2 engine serial.yes I have noted the serian written by hand, but I know myself I will have a constant bug in my head "did I get a franken bike"? What do you guys recommend? Better look for another one? Plus the current owner got the bike in 2004, never done any maintenance, so I guess it need some TLC, asking price is 6700 euros
