And one last pre fitting head question. Can't tell from parts diagram as to whether o ring on cam chain adjuster stud goes inside head or externally under washer for lock nut? I think it's externally but worth a check.

There is a groove on outside that O ring goes in, then plain washer then nut. The top retaining bolt should have a soft alloy washer on it to seal.
As too your spring seats the small one tends to stick on the guide with oil, the big one round the guide to head for same reason, if you have cleaned the head in a parts washer the oil "sticktion" can be removed and they fall out

Thanks Bryan, cleaned the whole engine manually (it really was squeaky clean - almost like new) so luckily all the inner (which I took out) and outer seats I checked last night are all present. (Few valves to check this morning) and then head to fit. Didn't know about alloy washer so good job you mentioned it.
