cb550 1974 rear wheel collar

Just to confirm - if all is good then when axle is tightened up the collar will sit tight up against the wheel bearing one side and the other against the  washer (number 46 in the diagram)?

From memory it fits big end touching the bearing with small dia through the seal

correct, I did that too just 3 weeks ago

No, it sits againts chain adjuster, number 65 in the diagram

From hub bearing : collar - chain adjuster (that sits on swingarm) - washer #46 and nut

All good now, must have had a bad head moment yesterday. Thanks for the replies, the extra info was good to know.
