Genuine points
commando1954:
Do genuine cb750 contact breaker point have any markings on them to identify them? Anyone know?
Nurse Julie:
Yes, they all have a makers mark on them but depends on what age bike as to which manufacturers were used.

This is listed as genuine part on DS for a 750 K1 looks like same part is listed for the K5.

They are modern day TEC points in that link Ted. 1971 points would have been ND, can't remember when they were changed to TEC but in the 70's sometime. Also, the manufacturers markings are stamped into the metal on the original points, not stamped in ink. All points are the same on all CB SOHC/4 models.

So are TEC points inferior to Nippon Denso in some way or is it a case of matching the back plate with the points Julie?
