Replacement Seat
Oddjob:
Lots of reports about them rocking, like they didn't get the location of the rubbers right. Yamiya don't seem to have this problem, if DS is using Yamiya seats for the 750 that should be ok. Of course, as I said before, these reports were for the 400, 500 and 550.
Martin6:
I put the David Silver seat on my 750k6 today. Disappointed. It doesn't rock, but it was not sitting straight on the bike. The front was too far left and the rear too far right. So much so that the front of the left trim strip scratched my tank on first close. >:(
I fiddled with it. I found bending the hinge brackets, in a vice with careful persuasion, improved things. I'm now at the limit of what I'm comfortable with for the seat lock alignment. It's still wrong, almost straight, not too obvious, unless you know. But it's not rocking and looks better than the old one.
I suppose, at £100, you get what you pay for. Annoyed at myself for not thinking it might scratch my tank. Only small and inconspicuous, but it will need repairing, to avoid rust.
The vinyl paint has arrived and the stencil should be here in a few days.
