Hub cleaning
« on: June 27, 2024, 01:06:35 PM »
Are there any magical tricks/techniques for sprucing up the wheel hubs within the spokes that anyone wants to share?  ;)

Can't help with the cleaning question but decades ago one of my old bikes had a narrow leather loop around the hub that would keep it clean!

Use a long handled bottle brush and a good cleaner like Mucoff. Make sure there are no sharp metal bits sticking out. 😫

Toothbrush, solvol, Brillo pads, lolly sticks and lots of scratched and bruised fingers.

Cheers

Get a couple of boy scouts to do it during a 'bob a job week' although it will probably cost a fiver these days ;)

Ted, I remember the leather band around bicycle hubs, the hub used to be the only part of the bike that was clean!
