Perhaps a different situation, however an acquaintance of mine had a pacemaker fitted four or five years ago and, after a recuperation period, not only kept his car and motorcycles licences but was also able to continue driving private hire (taxi) vehicles and a minibus for a local charity.

Thanks for that flatfour, the Consultant I spoke to recently did say my Driving Licence would not be affected, I was under a duty to inform my insurers of course.

Mate of mine whilst working for Asda was delivering to Penny Lane, Asda, yes that Penny Lane. He had a heart attack and died, luckily for him the staff had only just completed some defibulator training and had a brand new machine on the premises. He died 3 times whilst at the store and the staff brought him back each time. Went into hospital, had a stent fitted and eventually had a pacemaker fitted. Only 8% of his left ventricle was working. He lost every license he had, HGV, PSV, car and bike. Eventually they returned his car one back but that was all. Admittedly his was an extreme case and I suppose each case is decided on it's merits, just don't go in there blind to the possible consequences is all I'm saying.

Penny Lane. My father in law had a fish and chip shop in Penny lane back in the late 50s and 60s. He once clipped the ear of a cheeky young pup by the name of Lennon. They didn’t have a defibrillator machine.

I could tell you a little about the development of rhythm detection algorithms using Fourier series….but won’t.

Managed a couple of half hour stints at restoring some shine on the left side engine casing.
Still needs a lot more work but it's a start, I'm using a pair of  light blue 400 plastic disc wheels to start with.

Great start, Ted. Out of interest, from where did you source your “ blue wheels”.The items I purchased are very poor and break down in a few minutes.

Hi Phil, I've used ebay & Amazon, only time I have had the wheels fall to bits is when I've accidenally moved the speed control or applied too much pressure.
I find position 3 on my Von Haus tool is usually about right, I tend to use two wheels at a time. IIRC I found a seller that sells the colours individually. Checking back today that seller has ended the listing.

I tend to use 400, 600 & 1000 most of the time.

Ken might know a supplier of quality versions.

Update I'm assuming you have them mounted the right way round on the shaft.

Can I just add. Ted, lovely job. If you want it even better the only thing I'd suggest is to redo the really small areas near the screw holes. You can see they are slightly rougher than the rest. It may polish out nicely but the smoother you get those areas the better the end result is.

I'd also strongly suggest getting the extension lead for the Dremel. I use the Dremel 4300 IIRC. It has a metre long extension lead which is much lighter then the main tool so lets you use it longer and being thinner it also allows you to get into areas the main tool struggles with. Seriously, once you've used one you'll never go back to using the main tool. I used to have loads of them spares but ended up giving them away, everytime I send a dremel back under warranty they'd send the entire kit again with another extension. If I can find one you can have one foc.

Dremel 4250 is the replacement for the Dremel 4300.

And the extension is called a flexi shaft.

It's a work in progress Ken, I'm far from finished!

I bought the Von Haus version (recommended by a member here) as I could not justify the price of a genuine Dremel kit. I don't think Von Haus do an extension lead.
