Help with O ring identification please
« on: October 15, 2024, 04:13:16 PM »
I have just received a Vesrah gasket set for my '76 K2 550 and I have been sorting through the pack of O rings to work out what is what. DS sticking packing tape over the parts list on the back didn't help. I have all the O rings sorted and Im left with one query. There are 3 O rings given as part number 91303-035-000. Two of these are for around the oil control valves where crank case joins the barrels. I cant for the life of me work out what the third one is for; can anyone tell me?

Also, I rather foolishly believed that the plastic sealing discs that go in the head and cover the head bolts would be in the kit. Not so and at £5 each a bit of a shock. I have found 4 of the old ones but the other 4 must have ended up in the bin. I assume its advisable not to reuse these old ones or work with a mixed set?

I think it's for the tacho drive Mike or have you accounted for that one? . No, don't use the original head sealing washers (pucks as they are called).

If you mean the pontefract cakes, yeah, just buy some new ones don’t reuse old ones. You might as well, you’re in there and there’s a chance that you don’t match the right one to the right hole and cause leakage etc and have to strip it down again

That other o ring, it’s not for the gear change lever through the case is it?
