Paint stripper.
« on: October 26, 2024, 11:16:34 AM »
Don’t know if anybody has tried this stuff, it seems to work and doesn’t immediately dry up like some other products do. So you can let it soak for a good period of time before attacking with brush or wool or whatever. Think a can will go a long way too.

Sounds interesting Johnny 🤔.
Where did you buy it from and how much was it? Did it perform well?

Dave there is a local industrial supplier called Mcgreggors (although they do have stores elsewhere).
I had already removed a lot of paint from my tank before I saw this stuff. But seemed to work very well at dissolving what paint was left underneath. It was £10 for the can. I was looking at the stuff that Ian (orcad-Ian) recommended but it’s in a gallon can. I thought I would have to live another 100 years to use that. (Imagine dying and leaving half a can of paint stripper! Tragic!) 😂

Thanks for the update Johnny.
When I go I'm going to leave 3/4 tub of valve grinding paste that I bought when I was 18!

About 20 years ago I binned my double ended coarse/ fine grinding paste bought sometime in 1965 thinking my days of valve grinding were over.

We never learn the lessons of history.😁😁😁

Been racking my brains to remember someone who has crossed me in the past and I'm going to leave all my half empty aerosols, part tins of dried up paint, half tubs of grease and packs of worn out sandpaper to them in my will.

This one Ted! Think mine was bought in the 80’s, you can still get them too, think I’ll be leaving the empty tin Dave!

That's the very tin design - it's probably been unchanged since launch!
