I ran out of proper paint stripper and found that nobody locally sells it any more as 'you need a licence mate'.  I normally buy Paramose stripper (the closest I can get to original formula Nitromors... contains Methylene Chloride and Formic acid.. as in ant bites),  from Newark Autojumble but it poured with rain last months show, so I never attended (as didn't Henry Cole/Allen Millyard/ Guy Wiilison who were due to film Junk and Disorderly' there).

So in desperation I made up a mix of 50% paint thinners and 50% E10 Petrol and dunked the parts from my 1960 CB92 in it overnight for 16 hours. The PO repainted part (headlamp shell) paint bubbled up and stripped OK but the original Honda painted battery clamp was hardly touched.

I've 'discovered' a channel on YouTube Ash called RRC. The guy is a master of restorations both bikes and cars. He's Scottish and does all the work himself with some of the videos being time lapse. He's restored a few Honda's including the NC30, C50 and TL125.
He uses a paint striper that looks to be amazing. I have tried to see what brand it is (yellow label with black writing on a white 5 litre plastic container). In later videos he just labels it 'Super Stripper' and has removed the makers label. Whatever it is it removes all the paint down to the bare metal.
The channel is definitely worth a watch on a cold damp day.
Only mistake I've seen him make was whilst fitting a new drive chain to the TL125 when he fitted the open end of the link in the direction of travel!

He uses Synstryp. As I do. It’s the best I’ve found.

Yes, 5 litres is ott. I'll see if I can get a litre size. When I was stripping the 400 tank a mate gave me some he had spare (no label on it) and it was really thick like spooning cream. I think it must go off if not used and left in a half empty container.

Paramose ..as good as old formula Nitromors and the best I have used of modern stuff was £25 for 5l then went up to £30-35 at autojumbles. I did get some stuff by Final Systems (CS20) and that was good too and came in 1litre tins but everywhere seems to be out of stock of it.

Anybody actually tried brake fluid or a brake fluid mix for stripping paint? Mine is all silicon based now.

Ash, was that the ‘thick’ or ‘thin’ variant ? The ‘thick’ product is a similar cost to the Starchem Synstryp product for 5 litres. Can definitely recommend Synstryp, but I’ve not tried Paramose.

I bought 5L of Paramose on eBay a couple of years ago, it's good stuff, ideally you need to work in a fume cupboard. Small items I submerged in a Tupperware type container with the lid fitted.

Only draw back is having to tog up looking as if I worked at Porton Down. I filled my containers outside then washed it off outside suitably attired with acid proof gauntlets, eye protection & a twin filtered face mask. I always started to itch after using it so the shower worked overtime. Probably psychosomatic itching.

This is a neat 500 restoration in the USA.

It always seems to be the thin variant that is for sale at autojumbles. There always seems to be some stuff in plain tins at Newark (5l) and from memory that contains dichloromethane.
