Another auction site scam?
« on: November 30, 2024, 02:47:00 PM »
This bike is worth a fair bit more.  I know since I have the 72 model.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/387667885539?itmmeta=01JDYQWKBFEKF553QHXTAR164M&hash=item5a42ce7de3:g:KOsAAOSwI4ZnSnHZ

Look at the other items?
And the business address ends in "Northamptonshire".  The last time I was in Norwich, it was in Norfolk.

Beware....... maybe.

Well spotted.

Notice that the images have either been copied, through another image array, or very severely comprised in image algorithm.

Also both price and mileage are at 2000, neither of which is true.

The text accompanying is also missing gaps etc, to probably avoid some level of AI logic scanning as like that it will not identify easily that its from same as original bona-fide advert.

Isaid thatbytakingout gapsitmaynotbe detectedwithebayaiscan regime  ;D

And it's capacity listed as 321 ccm  ::)

capacity is listed as 321CC ...as that is correct for a YZF-R3. Which they certainly did not sell in 1971. But they did make them in 2015....

Norwich..Northamptonshire....er...no. Not even close. But hey...make a deposit, and you can surely view. Not the bike. Just a hole in your bank account where the deposit used to be.
Offer to pop round and view in person with the cash, and I bet you get ignored.

There are now 24 items for sale.  They are listed with realistic prices at first and then, after a while, reduced to fake prices.....  Nothing seems to get sold.

The contact phone number starting with 0753 ***** is listed as being associated with a payment scam.

So I guess they want a deposit to hold the vehicle while you go and see it.  And when enough people have taken the bait, they disappear?.

Is the auction site blind to all this??.
