There's a video of it being installed on the site IIRC. It looks simple to install and yes I'd imagine you'd need to remove it before dismounting the engine from the frame but TBH I would always remove the sump anyway to gain more space. It can be fitted with the engine in situ as well, clearly much easier if the bikes on a bench.
It doesn't interest me much as I'm not a 750 owner, or even an enthusiast of the 750, but many are and I thought it might just be the ticket for those special builds. The downside to fitting it is the fact you need to fill the oil through a tappet cover, not as bad as it sounds but not the best solution. There is a sight window to check oil level though so that's a good thing.
