For the car restorers here - windscreen insert tool.

(1/2) > >>

McCabe-Thiele (Ted):
Came across this tool that I have had for many decades , I used it to re-fit front & rear screens on my various Minis back in the 1970's.

It has a variety of fittings for other makes/models/types of screen rubbers with plastic type insert strips

Free to a good home, just postage cost that will easily be well under £10 via Royal Mail.

I will never use it again, too good to go in the bin. PM me if you want it.

First impressions thought it some sort of puzzle!😜 Bound to be of use to someone.

SteveD CB500K0:
Isn't there a Mini (not BMW) version of this site out there somewhere Ted?

McCabe-Thiele (Ted):
The attachment fitted to the handle  is for a BL Mini, back in the day most windscreens were fitted using a strip insert. I believe the various end fittings cover pretty much every profile insert from the 1960-1980s until bonded screens took over.

taysidedragon:
I could have done with that back in the Seventies when I built a GP beach buggy. Being on a tight budget I pushed the windscreen rubber and strip in with screwdriver blades. Very fiddly and time consuming!  🙄
