Back on the condenser subject, when I bought my 500 the previous owner  (no names) had condensers fitted at the points but also a second pair fitted to the coil LT connections, earthed onto the frame.

It was apparantly an experiment of some sort, possibly to compensate for poor aftermarket quality so effectively doubled up.

Ok, finally started to replace the points only to find that the screws fixing the points and on the timing adjustment plate for cylinders 2 and 3 are really butchered and need replacing.
The cmsnl webpage exploded schematic just has "Screw,cross,4x10 is used most often" as a general description.
Are these applicable for the points and plate?
Thanks

I have hundreds of stainless steel ones Ted, they are the right size and have captive plain and spring washers on them. You want some? Let me know how many, usually 8 or 9 and I'll bob some in the post for you. Buy a JIS screwdriver set, preferably the Vessel type from Amazon and it will avoid screws getting butchered in the future. Well worth the outlay as every member will confirm.

PM me your address if you want some.

Posted today Ted 1st Class, all 7 screws and a spare, just in case, and the 3 securing plate screws with washers and spring washers. The points screws are stainless as are the washer and spring washers for the securing screws, the securing screws are new JIS screws. Enjoy.
