Switch gear painting

Has anyone got any recommendations for paint to renovate the switch gear? Something hard wearing that doesn't easily rub of with use but thin enough so the lettering can still be filled with paint. I've had some powder coated but it's a bit thick and the writing isn't really visible anymore

Usually those little tins of Humbrol  modelling paint

And good quality brush

Had mine ceramic coated satin black, extremely hard wearing, thin as hell, letters are still very visible and it looks like a brand new switchgear. Use Humbrol model paint to fill in the letters.

I can look up the number of the paint if that helps and post some pics of my finished switchgear, I went a little OTT on them, anything that makes the bike go got green, anything that makes it stop gets red, the rest were a sort of bright orange. I like em, others may be aghast at the sacrilege 😁😁, I don’t care, I build my bikes to suit me not anyone else, if they like it they are free to copy it, if not then don’t.

I used Humbrol H19 Gloss Bright Red and 21 Gloss Black when I did mine, most model shops and Hobbycraft sell Humbrol paints in 14 ml tinlets, stir well for 1-2 minutes before use.
I did the black with my airbrush and filled in the lettering wth a brush,

Say it how it is Roo if you are not careful someone might reveal your first name to the public, I rather liked Ken's painted timing advancer plate in multi-colours.

Like much of Kens work he can make it look so easy wheras in fact it's often many hours of skilful work.
That's also true of a lot of other members here.

Very nice work Spitfire. It really is a 'knack' between getting just the right amount of paint on the lettering that can be wiped off leaving a nice crisp edge or over flooding it and wiping the excess off leads to it soaking into the surrounding black paint leading to frantic rubbing and a total mess!
