No, it uses a standard bolt Nigel, JIS screw IIRC.

Maybe if I get some machined I could alter the design of the flange to incorporate a small extrusion to fill that gap, would help to orientate it as well.

Just getting the drawing of the part done that the CNC machine needs to code off is expensive, so not exactly a project that you just dabble at, you either go all the way with it or give it a pass. Then of course there's the expensive of the machining and the materials, it may turn out to be more expensive than buying the copy, even though that breaks for fun, or may may turn out to be about the same, in which case only those who break them would be interested. Personally I'd fit one just for the piece of mind, nothing worse than going to change the tacho cable and finding the drive housing comes away with it, leaving you with an oil leak and no bike until you fix it. But that's just me, I tend to go overboard on trying to keep my bikes road worthy all the time.

Most breakages occur Martin because the screws rust into place, the owner needs to remove them to change the cable or to remove it for engine removal and they refuse to budge, out comes the impact driver and hey presto, the drive is in 2 pieces, sometimes you don't know until it starts weeping oil.

That would make sense if that was the case Nigel. Does anyone know? An original parts list might have that information.

Nothing to stop that lug from breaking than originally? I suppose the metal got a bit more brittle with age too.

The secret might have been in the length of the screw? 16mm screw would not have given a massive pressure on the lug without stripping?
