Unless you can eat it quickly, or it's just another sheep, it will be very hard to steal something in the Orkneys surely?
I had to pay over £1,000 pa for TPFT here in London for one ungaraged bike, they wouldn't risk me a third year when some no claims discount became due. Right now I have third party only for £17.00 pm. My spot is rather safe though, and the local brats probably couldn't cope with gears. It is bicycles and scooters that get nicked mostly. I have had my vulnerable fuel drained in the night a couple of times this past six years though
....and a cover half inched too,
next time I bought a less common one!
