McCabe-Thiele (Ted):
On my 500 K1 I used Philpotts, they checked them for any slight bends, they hard chromed them, excellent workmanship not cheap. You get what you pay for, they even chromed the top caps.

On my current project a 400NA Superdream I've fitted some new aftermarket ones. This choice was cost driven, there were lots of options priced from as little as £125 to over £300 a pair. I did a lot of searching, I settled for a pair that were the correct length etc.
I did not risk the cheapest, I went for a pair that were recommended from another site.

This sohc site gives imho the best advice. The Superdream sites I've joined  have not as far as I know have  any members who have worked in Honda Dealers with the associated experience.

As Oddjob has said at the end of the day it's your choice, we give advice, it's not compulsory to take it. I post this reply as I have a foot in both camps so as to speak.

I too use Philpotts after heading advice given on here. Could have had replacement stantions cheaper but glad I had the originals done. At least then I knew they were right. Good advice given on here but there’s always options too!

Gromitdog:
Hi
I used Philpots as they came highly recommend by others on here they did a fab job I did leave recommendation of there service on the recommendation page with the price I think I paid, ParcelForce is the expensive part as they collect yours from your door & send it back 24 hrs trackable it took Philpotts about 7-10 days for them to do the work.

My forks where checked for straightness and re-chromed they have been back in the bike for about 18months and have covered about 1200 miles and no issues.

If you contact the workshop manager and speak to him and say that your strip them down drain and clean the oil out and reassemble loosely you could be on for a discount   :)

Unfortunately you only get what you pay for these days and philpotts are certainty worth the out lay

Best Regards

Nigel
