[/quote  Sorry mate, Carling is E10, ruins me pipes. Bud is only E5, pipes kept clear, about 4 times every bloody night!!!  The bike is 49 years old, and I am 78, it's a close run thing as to who develops the first signs of leakage.
  Now for something completely different,  a few weeks ago, for the first time in 56 years, I took a tumble!!  The daft bit being that it was at walking pace. I went to pull onto a roundabout, left lane and close to the kerb, and stalled it.  Natural reaction being to very quickly put foot out, pull clutch in and hit the starter, yeah?  As I put my foot out I caught the kerb, and bike and I kept heading to earth.  Two broken indicators, slight mark on alternator housing, and slightly bent gear lever.  Armour pads in riding kit saved all the sticky-out bits, so, pulled muscle in left shoulder, bruised ribs courtesy of my elbow, and a severely damaged pride.  Left shoulder still gives me a bit of gip, but as I am right handed, the Budweiser operating mechanism still functions ok!  It's Friday, the weather forecast looks good, I guess it's time to go and dipt the loil and kick the tyres. Mike it's a stastical inevitability when your engine decides to stall, sometimes we can recover without incident, in our age group it can make you question your ability to ride, dont let it.

When I was 40 I bought my Yamaha XJ900F, one cold spring morning the following year I turned out of my drive to go left when it stalled at about 5 mph. As its shaft drive it was like someone had pulled on the brakes really hard. The bike ended up on its left side with me still sort of half astride.

My first thought was have my neighbours seen me drop the bike?
My second  thought was the bike, I had managed to break the lower engine cowl, scuffed the mirror.
I then had to lift the bike off the road, boy are they heavy, on my third attempt I managed to raise it off the ground & onto the center stand.
Worst injury was my pride, the collateral damage was a small leg burn off the front pipe, a bloody  finger inside my glove.
At 77 I now avoid riding off on a cold engine, I tend to keep the revs up for longer and ride the clutch a tad to avoid a repeat performance.

The last time my bike was on it's side I had tried to get off without putting out my side stand, that really does sound like age, forgetting to put it back up is the usual one surely?
I had real trouble picking it up again, even if it is only CB400F2, two amused school girls helped me.
I had however only just had an operation of the kind that means I shouldn't be lifting heavy stuff, same operation had me riding for weeks only when it wasn't an option and I was riding with my bum out the saddle so far I might as well have been riding side saddle!  Traffic humps and potholes were a REAL threat!

Done Similar.  Just moving the bike around the garage and the side stand got caught on the edge of the carpet just enough that it was on the balance of going up or down.  Put the bike down and it gave way. I ended up on my knees with the tank pressed up against my face and the bars digging into my shoulder  with a shelf unit on my other side. Well stuck.  Squealed like a stuck pig for about nearly a minute before the OH heard me.  Fortunately no damage to the bike but I was hurting for a while afterwards.  Bits of carpet are a necessity, I'm just too creaky to be kneeling on a concrete floor at my age.

I keep a couple of those Gaudy coloured firm foam kneeling pads, they're brilliant, stops the odd small pebble trying to penetrate your kneecap!  Can also be used for a tender derriere when sitting on a wooden stool.
