Does anyone have to sell or can help me find the top part of the airbox for a CB550?

Would the earlier K0 fit instead? The lower part of the airbox looks the same.

It will BUT the pd carbs on the k3/4 are a very different beast and the extra easy air flow may upset them

I’ve always wondered where do these covers go?
They seem to be as rare as hens teeth, most of the bikes on eBay etc have them missing.
It’s not like they can easily fall off when riding.

Stepped seat only on the 78.
They are difficult parts to find. Same on my US 550F as well. And if you are looking for originality the two M6 captive nut assemblies are impossible to find, but ordinary wing nuts will do.
The air duct bit is listed on ebay for silly money and the complete bits for a staggering £145 + postage from Germany.

Many thanks for your reply I really do appreciate it.

I'd seen that part & put it in my watched items folder, it needs the plates to mount it to the airbox which I'm looking for as well.

If it had the other bit with it I'd buy it in a heartbeat

Hi David N

Sin city spares on eBay have just started breaking a 550 Honda in the last couple of weeks they have the brackets that you require these are quite hard to find and not a bad price for them.
I have found a eBay source that does something very close to the Honda spacers that they use on the bike

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284388626643?var=585921939067

They do different diameters and lengths and they are half the cost .

The metal part would be a start & the 2 special wing nuts if you have them would be a great start. Just got to hunt down the rubber snorkel then.
