Quite a lot of 400/4 owners fit this camchain, its often available at a good price.

400 cam chain Kawasaki Part No: 92057-1011
That's the primary chain Ted. Oddjob (when he's well again) sells a HD cam chain for the 400 and Nurse Julie sells one but needs joining.

If it is that solid you may want to buy ebay item 205681628665 may need boring but will clean where yours may well not clean at 1.0mm

Whilst the engine is apart I would really, really replace the cush drive rubbers in the clutch basket. These are notorious for drying out, shrinking and cracking causing really bad backlash. Max who was a member on here used to make a full kit to replace them. I'm not sure if he still makes them but here's a link to the eBay seller who is advertising them, it could be Max but I'm not sure.

Thanks guys for your responses, got the block/pistons on ebay last night, so have a back up if mine are completely knackered.
