Ultrasonic cleaner

Can anyone recommend a decent ultrasonic cleaner for carbs etc, I did have one a few years ago and it was a cheaper Chinese device,
It did clean the parts but the results were not as good as I expected so I sold it, this time I’ll spend a little more money and try and find a better quality product which will achieve the desired results.

Hi,

Have a look at Allendale Ultrasonics, a wide range of machines AND the fluids to go in them.
Can recomend the carb cleaning fluid.
Not the cheapest but good quality.

I agree with Bloggs the Allendale cleaning fluids are excellent.

As regards how effective Ultrasound cleaners are I think my expectations were relatively low from my Chinese Cleaner.
I bought one that was a good sized tank so it would take a Carb body etc.

I always did some external pre-cleaning by washing the carbs with petrol and a little scrubbing as required.
Likewise a blocked jet might need some thin wire to start clearing out the blockage. Some parts like a carb bowl would have bits of adhesive or gasket material stuck to them. When needed a soft brush would remove loose bits after a first clean.

With brass parts I put them in a jar with white vinegar then immersed the jar in the Ultrasound cleaner. As my cheap Ulrasound Cleaner took ages to heat up I added off the boil water to shorten the heating up time.

The only fault on my cheap cleaner is the control  buttons that are covered with a sort of plastic have cracked so I have to ensure I dont let the control panel get wet, sticking a polythene cover over the panel has worked so far.

I could be wrong, dont expect too much improvement from a more expensive unit in terms of cleaning ability, you are paying for longevity I suspect. My Chinese unit still works, I bought it during Covid lock down IIRC.

neat street:
Mine is by Creworks and can heat as well aas ultra, works very well for everything including degreasing as long as you use the right cleaner for the job. had it for anout 1 year and would recomend.
