Decent Old Suzuki forums anywhere ?
« on: February 04, 2026, 05:47:26 PM »
I've acquired the mortal remains of a Suzuki  GS750 project.
Plenty of potential,  but unlike my Honda Projects  (CB750F1,  CB750K1, and CB550F), I can't seem to find any sort of traditional forum for people who want to restore these bikes.
I tried the Old Skool Suzuki site, but the admin seems to have died of boredom or something.
Then I tried to get on the VJMC forums ( I am a VJMC member)
Instead of my profile being approved,  I got banned for life for having a Virtual Private Network  ( which I definitely don't have  )
That only leaves the groups on FB, and I hate Facebook.
I'm really not sure where to try next.
Any suggestions  ?

You don’t have something like Nord VPN?

Seems odd that they seem to think you have, means in affect that they would be unable to ban you effectively if my understanding is right.

No idea on a Suzuki forum but there must be one somewhere.

The only one I have heard of is the kettle owners club. There is a forum but you need to be a member.

Hi Grewth,
One that certainly used to be pretty good was the GS Resources US site but I haven't been there for quite a while.
Was very good when I was working on the GS1000 and GSX1100 with lots of guys who had vast experience and knowledge and quite a bit of useful technical downloads etc.

Cheers,
Andy

According to the webmaster of the VJMC forums,  my IP address comes up as being located in various different physical locations,  such as Croydon or Wakefield.
This, apparently,  constitutes proof that I am some sort of spybot or scammer.
Actually all I'm doing is running from an Android phone on Giff Gaff.
Unfortunately,  I need to remain in the VJMC for dating and registration purposes,  otherwise I would probably sling my hook,  as it were.

I bought a GT750B when I was 18 back in 1978.
Maybe I'll own another one before I end up with a zimmer frame.
I'd suspect that the GS750 probably isn't their very favourite bike, as it replaced the GT as Suzuki's flagship if only for a very short reign.
I also suspect that if I joined the kettle club, it might result in some very expensive purchases

I'll try to track it down  (if it's still alive) this weekend

All the tripples need to be used regularly or the crank seals can fail

Well, I've managed to register on the GS resources forums.
So far, I haven't been banned or accused of being a scammer.
Site still seems to be active,  no tumbleweeds blowing about as far as I can see, and also representation from people running the shaft drive GS bikes too.
The Old Skool Suzuki site seemed to be populated by total speed freaks doing what, to me, seems nonsensical stuff.
Like taking some poor innocent GS750, fitting upside down forks,  monoshock rear end, modern wheels and brakes, and finally chucking  in a 1200 Bandit engine.
A wonderful feat of engineering to be sure.
But why not just buy a Bandit 1200 in the first place  ?
