CB750 K6 fuel tap repair kit
Ricardo1500:
Hello All
The fuel tap on my K6 leaks externally when in the reserve position. I've searched hard but can only find repair kits for earlier K model fuel taps, nothing for the LHS single fuel line K6 tap.
I know I can buy a replacement tap both original and pattern but I would prefer to keep and repair my existing one.
Can anyone help with a recommended source for this.
Thanks
Rich

You’re not the first Rich! Not available that we know of. Apart from the filter seal and top nut that attaches to tank which is available in a kit there are no repair kits AFAIK.

I thought that would be the case but thanks for letting me know :)

My experience with fuel tap repair kits is that they don't fit properly and don't work.
Many years ago I bought a repair kit for the dreaded Suzuki GT750 Vacuum Fuel Tap.
It needed more vacuum than the manifold delivered, at least at large throttle openings.
Loads of fun sorting that one out, ended up with a NOS genuine tap instead.
Buy cheap buy twice ?

Halo everyone.
I hade mine K6 fuel tap apart last week. The critical part in this is the small plastic cone with hole that can get scratched on its surface and leek. This must be a typical piece to be made by a decent good 3D-printer. Careful measurement and CAD drawing should give us access to spare parts for this one too. I am not at all knowledgeable in this technology but have seen amazing 3D prints.
Just a thought.
