good knowledge of triumphs here...and thanks for the links for parts,  the base nuts don't look too good will definitely be checking out those tools and nuts mentioned,  lookin forward to the rebuild[ I'll will check the compression first,  wonder if it will start it kicks over nice,  would you just estimate the torque on those base nuts or can you get a torque wrench in there?

Has to be an educated feel on those mate, or spring balance and measure the lengh of spanner

Just found this socket set I was given years ago from a friend, was ungrateful at the time! glad I keep all tools, And a few spanner’s with a big W, whitworth? a run to Sunday market for a rummage might be a good idea.

Any autojumble should have some old imperial spanners up for grabs. One coming up in Forfar, regular ones in Bridge of Earn if you're near enough.

If it says BSF grab it as well, usually they are double marked with Whitworth and BSF sizes
