Yes you can reuse a solid copper gasket, heat to cherry red and quench in water

two wire, think this is it. I would have liked a replacement zener diode they look good under the headlamp, but the combined reg/rectifiers are reasonably priced, think it’s a straight forward upgrade.

You may find that a modern combined reg/rectifier has to be neg earth.

Al Osborn the electrical guru over on the NOC site sells stuff and offers advice on Brit Bike electrics.

He also does regulators for neg or positive earth systems.

thanks good site, wish I’d seen that earlier http://www.aoservices.co.uk/products.html,
already have one of those cheap Single Phase Rectifier-Regulator +- units off eBay just to get things started, nearly ready to start wiring in the loom, I’ll upgrade as I go along coils.

And I thought the spring thingy improved output!

From experience when replacing the pushrod tube seals on the Trident that I own, it is important to ensure that the correct pushrod operates the intended valve, as it is really easy to let them cross over when refitting the rocker boxes. Might be the same on the twins?

There is a method that worked for me that worked, which was to mark a section of the pushrod and its associated valve with a permanent marker pen, so that you are able to confirm matters when lowering the rocker box into place.

Scrupulously clean and no goo to seal the pushrod tubes, plus the correct O rings/seals which changed several times

thanks I'll definetly be careful with that, did label them L/R F/R with masking tape when I removed them, looked okay to me in my limited knowledge of pushrods, the cam followers same. realising the importance right tools for these as advised, finding some nasty butcherd Nuts not nice viewing, need to buy a clutch hub center puller next 1" x 20TPI among others. My diy electroplating is going well though but sad I'm using up my Trustan rust converter on the rear light holder.

Its been a long time but my memory says the pushrods fit anywhere anyway, cam followers rarely wear just watch which followers fit which cam, the famous E3134 cam needs followers marked with an R which denotes a different radius, cardboard jammed between the follor rods to fit barrels
