Back in 2019 the Tory government appointed Ester McVey as the minister without portfolio but really known as the minister for common sense. Following Labour's victory she wasn't replaced and she took the limited parliamentary common sense with her!

Friends, located on Selsea Bill, recently had a banana "incident" in which 2 containers went overboard on Southampton water, floated along a bit and broke up in heavy sea off Selsea, thousands of bunches washed up along the beaches there :-\
Quite a local response to help clear them all, with onshore skips available to collect the whole lot and remove the, now salty and battered and once yellow cargo.

The phrase banana republic was coined in 1904 by American writer O. Henry. A banana republic is a country with an economy of state capitalism, where the country is operated as a private commercial enterprise for the exclusive profit of the ruling class.
