Honda CB750K2 Blinker/Indicator problem

Good Evening Gents.
This is my first post here, so nice to meet you all and greetings from Poland! I have recently picked up a K2 from USA and I am slowly fixing it and putting it back to the original state.

I do have an issue with the turn signals. Whenever I push the turn signal switch all the way, the signal stays on constantly without blinking. But when I move it only slightly, the flasher works normally and the indicator works as it should.

I have checked the original relay, and also bought a new one. When I installed the new relay and moved the switch slightly,the signal didn't blink at all. So I went back to the old one, which worked half way through.

I did check the indicator lightbulbs, they are all 21W and signle-fillament.
I have also cleaned the contacts in the indicator switch, but the problem persists.

I have seen various statements that this should not be this way, and others saying that this is normal for the US models from that time. Could you please help me out? Much oblidged!

Indicator bulbs for your K2 should be 12v 23w.

Usa k2 should have twin filament front bulbs where the 5watt comes on as a running light, indicators frequently wont work properly unless engine is running and charging the battery

Correct Bryan,

Sorry I quoted the part number for only the rear bulbs.

Front bulbs should be 12v 23/8w.

Thank you for the reply ! I did open the indicator hull and checked the turn signal sockets and they only have one pin, so it looks like there might be something else that causes the malfunction...

You could try running a new ground wire from the screw on the bulb socket directly back to the nearest (green) ground connection, thus bypassing any potential issue with the grounding by the indicator mounts....

I do remember seeing somewhere that a slight push on the indicator stem means the power runs down one wire and a full push means it runs down another. No idea why they did this, may be something to do with the running lights on US models. Maybe check what wires are coming out of the switch and see what does what.
