I've always been amused at how we all tend to think we are careful, defensive, observant motorcycle "drivers" but we can ride for miles with an unobserved turn signal light flashing right in front of us.

When my wife and I are riding we use a Sena comm device so we can communicate as necessary.  The most common communication both ways is, "Your turn signal's on."  :)

I’ve already mentioned it before Ted, thought you lot might have forgotten though. Yep, side stand alarm. If you get a set of 4 into 4 for your 500 Ted, test the side stand doesn’t hit the outer exhaust when it goes up, leaves a hell of a dent over time. Most have a slight bend in them from being left down. Gonna try an induction coil and a press to see if I can straighten mine.

I fitted an adjustable nut on my 500 to stop the side stand from hitting the 4:4 exhuast, rubber cap fitted over the bolt head when I found something suitable.

PS I suspect most of us have left our indicators on at some time, I certainly have.

That’s the main stand Ted 😊😊

The side stand hits the downpipe not the silencer, I intend to try and fit an adjusting bolt on it so I can stop it from hitting the downpipe even if it gets bent at some point. It all depends on if it can be fitted, in my head it works but until you test a theory you never know if it will work as planned or not.

I may start work on the 500 later this summer, ready for next year.

Personally don’t mind the flasher buzzer, quite a good safety feature warning pedestrians and of course you’re never not going to cancel your indicators. Have the original wiring and buzzer on my 550k1. Thought was I can easily disable if it annoyed me too much but unfortunately not on that bike enough to get annoyed. Didn’t benefit from that heatwave that swept accross Europe and elsewhere.

Like i said not every ones cup of tea,but getting old and all additional safety prompts welcomed.

Bracket made all fitted and working, if it gets annoying its easy enough to disconnect.

Cheers
