Pod filters on a Cb400 f

(1/3) > >>

Ken4004:
Hi everyone, I just wondered if anyone had had any experience with K and N pod filters on a cb400f.

Although this is non standard I thought it might be a cheaper option to have a reusable filter and other advantages would be ease of removing the carbs for maintenance and better airflow.

If you have any experience with these filters or a view on the subject it would be nice to hear from you regards Ken

Johnwebley:
Not had any experience

But I think they are not an improvement

They seem to cause poor running, especially low down,

These old bikes seem to run best on the factory air intake system.

If you search the site re that subject you will find that no one seems to have had a good result with pod filters on these bikes.  Removing a properly designed airbox on an otherwise stock engine is almost always a performance downgrade.

Ken4004:
Hi Guys many thanks for the feedback, I was under the impression that having pods would increase airflow and improve the running of the engine but from what you are all saying is that the original design is the best solution so best to muck about with it.
