I have been led to this from another forum. The good thing is that not only can you search via a reg number, but also from the frame number. It also gives the price at the time of inquirey & a delivery time.

I had no luck with any of the older models it must be for present ones

I put in my old CM125 - on a "Y" plate and they had that.

Then tried my old CB500/4 - on an "M" plate and that isn't listed.

So how about collating all our numberplates and asking them to upload our bikes. THey might just not have got that far back yet so be glad of the head start.
