my local tyre fitters reccomended washing up liquid,
worked ok,
not ridden in the rain so I don't know if it bubbles up
At one time it seemed very common, with someone who taught me to change bike tyres recommended the same.
Its effectively corrosive to metals though, which may have more impact in how we look at our wheels and bikes on here. They couldn't give a monkey's about wheel condition in many tyre places though. Some of the manky old stuff I've seen in them buckets of slop would bring questions

My interest in using something different to the soaps often used was primarily about corrosion as with older alloy wheels it plays havoc ultimately with rim/bead sealing. Ultimately to need refinishing the rim to correct it.
Both silicone and red rubber grease would seem to answer that. Proprietary tyre soap SHOULD address that if the product is bona-fide, but many seem to chuck any old liquid soap in to make it last longer. It is, from the msds sheets near 98% water anyway.
