400/4 Restoration Project
« on: Today at 02:54:01 PM »
Hi
I have a 1992 400/4 that is in need of a full restoration it has spend several years under a tarp in a garden & therefore is in poor condition.
Its has 11,400 miles on the clock I believe the engine starts & runs.
I was planning of restoring it myself but due to health issues this is no longer possible so it needs a new home & someone to take on the restoration this classic deserves.

If anyone is interested please contact me either on here or by email rob.baker1050@gmail.com.

Regards

Rob.

Welcome to the forum Rob.
The Honda CB400/4 goes from 1974-1977, is this the model you are referring to or is it a USA import that came into the UK and registered at  DVLA  in 1992?

As Julie says it cant be a 1992 model, if it is a us import there will be a vin plate giving year of make OR if it is 1992 the vin plate will give a model number, eithe way with the information we can help better.
As a new member you need more posts before you can put pictures in a post.

It could always be a 92 Super Four which is a dohc of course

Hi There

Thanks for the information regarding the age of the bike I did think 1992 seemed a bit young for this bike.
I have a feeling that it may have been imported from Canada ?.
You said there should be a vin plate on the bike ? is this going to be on the frame around the head stock area ?.
I'll have a look & report back.

Cheers Rob

Early ones on headstock RH side, later may be on downtube in front of engine or by rh sidepanel

Welcome Rob.

It sounds like the F model with the pillion footrests mounted directly onto the swing arm.
Does it have a plain yellow fuel tank with black side panels?

Thats a fairly early one, from Canada may have a Km speedo, just about everything else is same as UK one, may have dual filament front indicators as running lights, not legal in UK but you just disconnect 2 wires
