cb550 Rear Brake Anchor Bar Bolt
« on: October 20, 2026, 09:26:56 PM »
Does anyone have a new or used bolt for the rear brake anchor bar on a CB550?

It's a 43mm long M8 hex bolt with a 25.5mm shoulder.

Thanks
Neil

Front or rear bolt? The rear bolt is similar but doesn’t have a hex head on it, just 2 large flats as it engages into the brake plate.

Probably have the front one somewhere.

Its the hex bolt that connects the brake plate to the anchor bar; it has a sleeve of 25.5 mm and a thread of 17mm or so. Part Number 90127-393-000.

Are you sure Neil?

Looking at a CB550F parts book the front bolt is a hex head, 90133-286-000 but the rear is the same as fitted to the CB500K, 90127-323-000. It is not a hex head, it has 2 large flats only and slots into a special groove in the brake plate.

393 middle number isn't a 550 number, that's 390.

It's definitely the correct number - it shows in the Honda parts manual as 90127-393-000 and on CMSL for the F2. Bolt RR Brake Stopper for country code E. Confusingly, the Honda parts manual also shows an alternative for ED, F and G  being 90127-323-000 and describes it as Bolt RR Brake Stopper Arm!

Have you checked the hole in the brake plate where the head of the bolt would fit? If it’s hex shaped then that’s the right bolt, if however it’s an elongated slot you need the other type.

It's an elongated slot. Although it looks like a hex bolt was used previously, as there is an impression of the head in the slot.

The brake plate is new to me, and didn't come with the bolt.

If it’s elongated you can use the other bolt if you can find one. None in the original brake plate?  they tend to get destroyed because they bond into the brake plate and require hammering out to remove them and even that only works about 80% of the time.

There was a member on here used to make them out of stainless steel due to scarcity. Left now. He also did the front bolt and all the wheel spacers in stainless steel.
