I think someone has fitted a vacuum fuel tap, maybe the tank was changed for a later design and the old tap didn’t fit. It looks as though to get the tap to work they fitted a vac gauge adapter into the vac screw fitting and used that for the fuel tap. The other pipes look standard. Has the fuel tap got one or two fuel pipe outlets?

Looking at the parts list you appear to be missing a part described as an auto fuel cock part number 16970-460-731. This acts like a vacuum operated fuel tap in that it only allows fuel to flow when the engine is running. The brass nozzle is the vacuum take off, your missing the pipe. The other 2 fuel lines connect to this auto fuel cock and a final pipe connects that to the fuel tap.

Post a full pic of the carb bank so we can see if it’s missing.

It's kinda within an interim period, during which they were putting vacuum actuator to close the fuel supply when the engine wasn't running.

Quite simple in that there's the normal selecting tap, but also a means of stopping the fuel with a vacuum operated diaphragm. That just opens supply only with motor running and you don't have to remember to switch tap off during non running.

It will work with both fuel pipes T'd  together and connected to the tap you've ordered. Then the vacuum pipe (looks like the brass one in your images) would need to be closed.

Of course, you'll need to just switch fuel on and off manually in that configuration.

Having read the replies the answers seem to have been provided, it's down to what type of tap you decide to fit.
A vacuum type if still available or fully manual.
What type was fitted before you stripped it down?

Hi
I’ve purchased the new fuel tap (number in previous comment) which should be the same as originally supplied. I didn’t take the bike apart so this is why I have uncertainties 🫣

Ok let’s try and explain this so it’s easy to understand. Someone has removed part of the carb setup. This was an attempt by Honda to convert an ordinary gravity fuel tap to a vacuum fuel tap, one that only allowed fuel past when the engine was running. Maybe it was faulty and expensive to replace, who knows. So what you have left is what’s left of the piping for that system. The brass nozzle tucked down away in the carbs was the vacuum feed for the old system. Either remove it and block the hole with a suitable screw and alloy washer or block it off somehow. It will never run right with that exposed like that.
The other 2 black pipes appear to be the fuel feed, the one with the largest hole is the fuel feed. That goes to the new tap. The other looks to be an air bleed from the float chambers. Reroute that to come out near the stand. Test first, block the vacuum takeoff, connect the fuel line to the tap, turn on and try and start the engine. If it fires up on all 4 it’s fine to reroute that other pipe. The other long pipe is a bit of a mystery, where does it connect to ?
