f2 and supersport diffferences.clarification needed

hi all

hope dave reads this but am sure you all know the answer

my f2 is on ebay and had a few offers ( some serious, some not )

question coming through e bay

i am adamant mine is f2 , i remember reading somewhere badges were changed on my bike though, dave lost them while riding ?

what are the main differences between f2 and the superport

is mine classed a 550 f2 supersport  or just f2

v5 says none of these

The 550 F1 And F2 were BOTH "Supersport" models, as were the 750 F1,F2, and for U.S. market, F3 ;D

take it then the tnk  on my bike has been resprayed at some time then, would it have originally had the words supersport painted on the tank ?

Indeed, according to the picture in Honda's Parts List CB550F2 (1978-07-20) the F2 had Super Sport on it's tank. Other details tell yours is a F2 indeed.

Hi Mike.
It's definitely an F2 as everyone else has said, but they were also referred to as F2 Super Sport as well.
The bike had it's tank re-sprayed before I bought it and the "Super Sport" badges were not replaced. They should be just below the Honda badges on the tank.
It was one of those jobs that I meant to do but never got round to. Too busy riding the bike

The F2 lost the gators. The F1 did indeed have Flake Sapphire Blue as one of the options and Shiny Orange as the other.

UK F1s were available in Sapire Blue, but that was the candy rather than the flake.

Flake Saphire Blue was a US colour that has only arrived here on imports.

I'd like a pair of side panels in flake saphire blue if anyone has some: swap for a decent pair in Candy saphire blue?
