Handlebar switches

(1/2) > >>

StPeter:
They're cosmetically challenged. What's the original finish? Anodised, powder coated? What should I do to restore them, bearing in mind that I intend to ride it?!

Also, the additional light switch on the left. That's an addition, surely? I would have expected the right hand one to have an off position (for the UK market, at least.)
What's the expert view?

LesterPiglet:
I think they were anodised but I've made do with a satin black aerosol.
That switch does look familiar but not from my 550.

Spitfire:
I believe the switches were anodised when new, I just airbrushed mine with Humbrol gloss black model paint, I think that they look fine, but I used red for the lettering instead of orange.
It may not be true but I think the separate switch was a added as a mod for UK bikes as there was no requirement for daylight running lights.

mickwinf:
i think the seperate switch is used on uk cb500 models only and still available from Silvers.

Bryanj:
Switch was 750 and 500 and used as in going main to dip it was possible to turn off lights, genuine honda part, expensive and DS does have them
